Press Release:

"Works in progress". Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated flautist and composer, Kat Epple in Concert with special guest musicians, performing music from her new albums.

Special guest performers include a variety of musicians with whom she is currently recording albums. Musical styles move musically from a cool Celtic stream, to the jungles of Africa, and include Smooth Jazz, Latin, Impressionistic, World, and New Age elements. Kat performs live in concert only once a year in Southwest Florida, and as with all of the events she produces, this one should be inspiring and fun.

This concert is a fundraiser for Florida Repertory Theatre, and is Monday, February 26, 2007 at 8pm at the Arcade Theatre, 2267 First St, downtown Fort Myers . TICKETS are $15. Call Florida Rep’s Box Office at (239)332–4488 or Toll-Free at (877)787-8503

Special guest musicians scheduled to appear are: Keyboardist Chuck Grinnell, Harpist DL Turner, Percussionist Nathan Dyke, Guitarist/bassist Ted Myerson, bassist Miko Amore, performance artist Christar Damiano, and more to be announced.

Kat has released 14 music albums internationally on various record labels, and composes film and television soundtracks for National Geographic, Nova, CNN, The Guiding Light, and NASA among others. Kat's live performances include: solo performances at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, and Spain, with Symphony Orchestras, The National Gallery, Washington DC, concerts at the Hollywood Palace, Palazzo dei Diamanti in Italy, a concert tour of Russia, Naples Winter Wine Festival, with Dance Troupes, and for many art openings. She has traveled to the far reaches of the globe including China, Africa, Russia, The Amazon, Europe, Peru, Mexico, Japan, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean, to learn of the people, natural environment, and the music of other cultures. She uses music in her work toward environmental and humanitarian awareness, and has amassed a large collection of flutes from cultures around the world, which she features in her original compositions. www.KatEpple.com
