| Michael Rocco (Rocky) Pinciotti lives and works in New York City. In 1979 he moved to New York from the Midwest to attend Pratt Art Institute where he recived a Masters of Fine Arts in 1981. During that time, he began his association with Let There Be Neon, the SOHO gallery that singlehandedly re-introduced neon as a tool for artists and revitalized the use of neon throughout the world. Rocky soon became one of the pioneers in the creative neon art world and continues his association with Let There Be Neon today.
As a fine artist, he has travelled widely exhibiting on three continents, as well as organizing and curating contemporary neon exhibits. His in-depth lectures on neon illustrate how contemporary artists use neon in a wide variety of ways. He was the primary force behind the current movement of artists using neon in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Rocky's neon artwork is featured in the books The Magic of Neon, Tools as Art, Let There Be Neon, Art as a Way of Learning, and Contemporary Neon, as well as several newspaper articles, video documentaries, TV shows and major motion pictures. As an art director and designer, his video graphics, set designs, illustrations and animations have been used by PBS Great Performances, HBO, MTV, VH1, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Children's Television Workshop's "Sesame Street", Coca Cola, Hitachi and Sony, among others. Through Pinciotti Design Inc, Rocky is currently marketing his own line of unique neon lighting fixtures directly to the public through stores and catalogs.
Time, flight, temples, home, nature, maps, prose, poetry and Modern Art history are all references that materialize in Pinciotti's work. His love of drawing, his draftmanship and his engineering skills are the solid foundations to which he adds his love of color and light in his creations. The use of neon in his work symbolizes an inner life of illuminating radiant energy.

| "Life, death, heavenly beings and creation have all revolved around the concept of light. In a sense, without light, only our imaginations can see. With light, these inner visions and places can become bright and visible realities."
