i2art.com announces its sponsorship of i2artContemporary 2003: FRONTIERS, a contemporary art installation hosted by the Art Gallery at Florida Gulf Coast University (Fort Myers FL) February 28 – April 5, 2003. Juried by Mark Coetzee, Director of the renowned Rubell Family Collection in Miami Florida, and Morgan T. Paine, Art Program Leader at FGCU, the exhibition promises to be an exceptional selection of contemporary work featuring video artist Cosimo Cavallaro (Brooklyn NY) and painter Robert Flynn (Miami FL). i2art will present a lecture “The Business of Art” at 6:30 p.m. in the FGCU Arts Complex prior to the opening reception for the exhibition on Friday, February 28, from 7 – 10 p.m

Well over ninety artists submitted entries from across the country and from abroad which addressed the theme of FRONTIERS. Many of these artists were no doubt motivated by the desire to have their work reviewed by Coetzee who directs an extensive collection of work dating from the 1960s to the present and which features rotating exhibitions of works by such prominent artists as Maurizio Cattelan, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Paul McCarthy, Takashi Murakami, Kara Walker, Charles Ray, David Salle, Julian Schnabel and Cindy Sherman.

Please visit www.i2art.com for the on-line version of this exhibition. i2art.com: Your Business Resource for the Business of Art. Created by Artists, for artists, with an Artist’s Budget in Mind.

The Art Gallery at Florida Gulf Coast University is free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information, call 239-590-7222 or e-mail gallery@fgcu.edu.
